Was looking at a 2002 focus with view to buying. 86,000 miles on the clock but when i looked at the srvice log book, last service was 2 months ago and the mileage was put down as 92,000. Soemthing fishy?

I doubt this is a case of deliberate clocking. Maybe the mileage
was 82,000 and the mechanic misread it?

if it looks dodgey just walk away man. 86,000 doesnt really look like 92,000. maybe if he put down 68 instead of 86 or 98. maybe the mechanic was dyslexic?

Doubt it cos previous service was done at 82,000. In the service book, next service shown as due at 91,000 and underneath 92,000 is written is as mileage at time of service

But would anyone really wind back the clock by only 5k miles? It won't add much, if any, value.

Surely if you were that sneaky and dishonest you'd go a bit further?

Ring the garage that serviced the car and ask them to check their records and verify the mileage recorded at the time of the car was with them.

Sounds strange alright, but I still don't see why anyone would bother clocking a 10 year old focus by 5k miles. Is a private sale or dealer? Can you link to the ad?

Also, I'd be asking for the NCT certificate, which is as important as the disc. No real excuse for not having it. It shows mileage at time of test as mentioned above.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
