Ok so its against charter to ask about medical advise for running related elements. So where aka which forum can I ask about them. Can people suggest any forums where such questions will be answered. Obviously my GP etc is my first port of call but I have a running related medical question but would like to get opinions from other people but don't want to break the charter so that is why I am asking this question.

I stand to be corrected, but I think it's ok to ask a question as opposed to seeking specific medical advice. Maybe PM raycun with your general query to see if it's ok.

Nowhere on boards. The ban on medical advice is not specific to this forum, its part of a boards-wide ban on professional advice
Randomly asking people online what’s wrong with you and what you should do about it is about the DUMBEST THING EVER. You deserve your place in The Darwin Awards if you follow any advice you get. We disclaim ALL liability if you are stupid enough to listen and act on anything you are told here. GO TO A DOCTOR. A *REAL* ONE.

Some other online forum - letsrun.com ? runners world? - will have other rules

The only thing I would advise would be if using letsrun be very careful as they tend to not crack down on trolls as much as such it can be dangerous to take advice

If you are to go to a GP why risk your health with advice from strangers for the sake of a few days? While some may be knowledgeable on here regarding the these matters simple fact is you dont know their credentials and they are effectively guessing off your own diagnosis (considering there info is based on what you tell them)

RayCun : the more to the Internets than boards :) To be honest I have been going to GP, consultant route and now I am looking for other people who get it from running. I am not going to act on any info got from a forum regarding medical issues but I am going to present the opinion to my GP so I can get checked for these things as everything so far has revealing nothing. I have gone for 2nd opinions etc and another doc that I was talking to yesterday said it was something she has seen in runners before and it could be X say. So I am looking for other runners with this and basically wondering what specialists etc that they went to to get it sorted. It is not big deal, its just something that stops me running for a day or two which is too long if it happens at the wrong time.

This is not in breach of the charter you can ask for Physio/medical recommendations. Its the treatment aspect which is prohibited

The runireland forum. They have an 'ask the physio' thread.
