If any of you have Boxnation, tune in now.

No warmup, this is just an excellent fight.

Looks like it might be similar to the first fight, Appleby physically stronger and the harder puncher, Simpson the technically better fighter and landing the cleaner shots. Appleby won on workrate last time and Simpson is looking the busier here. Appleby needs to pick it up.

Don't want to sound like I'm aftertiming here, but I've fancied Simpson for this for quite a while. Appleby just takes too many punches!

    Very Good round 5.

Appleby really gave it everything and deserved the round, but I wonder with the way he was caught again at the end if he has taken too much out of himself.

Yup he did. Simpson wins in 6.

Appleby's defence is just too porous, I thought he was a reasonable prospect when he was coming through but his defence has just never improved. Stephen Ormonde probably should have got the decision over Appleby in his last fight and I really would of liked to see how Ormonde would of coped with Simpson.

Big win for Simpson, a loss here and he mightn't have had many places to go. I suppose the same applies to Appleby to a degree, a return with Ormonde is the only fight I can think of and really I wouldn't like to see Appleby in another fight like tonight or the last Ormonde fight where he takes too many shots.

If Appleby is to continue his career I'd like if they kept him out of dangerous 50/50 fights for a couple of years and let him earn a living by being busy enough in easier fights and let him work on that defence aswell. Anymore fights like tonight in the near future and we're looking at an early retirement, and I'm not sure what a 24 year old lad who turned pro at 18 and hasn't earned astronomical money in his career has to fall back on.

Appleby's defence is his face, plain and simple. Always has been. He was starting to get to Simpson with the body shots but then he gets tagged, dropped and then knocked out. Little resistance tonight. Enjoyed it while it lasted.

Believe it or not but Paul was given great money a few years back to fight Martin Lindsey. It was in the days setanta were putting stupid money into sport, money which they obviously didnt have, and Appleby's team couldn't turn it down. Don't get me wrong he couldn't live off it but at least a good deposit for a house.

At the time Martin was with the Hayemaker team and they had a deal with setanta. Remember David Haye used to be on their channel, even Hatton was on there back in the day.

I'm gonna choose not to believe it. While rumours going round were that Appleby was picking up a purse of around £100,000 to fight Lindsay in Belfast, it has been stated by those close to Appleby (including his own mother) that this claims are outlandish and far greater than what he actually picked up. I remember hearing somewhere that the true purse was around £40,000. If that £40,000 is the true figure, and you take away everyone else's cut, I'm not sure it would be that great a deposit for him to put down on a house (not around Edinburgh anyway, other parts of Scotland it'd probably buy a house !)
