Anyone else getting this message? I keep seeing it on MTV, E4, Discovery, Sky Living, and Comedy Central. That's about half of the analog channels that I have that will be gone...

Since you haven't told us where you, or how you are receiving this "channel", I doubt if you'll get much information.

UPC cable in some town or other I'll wager. Enniscorthy perhaps or Nenagh even?? Maybe the message appeared in Cavan town???

I'm in Waterford. It ain't one 'channel'. To put it in simpler terms these are some of the channels that you don't have to pay for (like sky channels or UPC). You can see the programs on these channels but white text is on the bottom repeating that message.

UPC analogue or Casey Analogue in Dungarvan. Has to be one or the other. Bet it is UPC getting ready to launch 100mbit BB.

You would have 10 channels with no message ....am I right. 4 Irish 5 UK plus sky news ??

You have to pay for Sky and UPC.

If your question is about UPC, you should try the Cable forum.

And if its about Sky you should try the Satellite forum..

I really don't know how to word my question any simpler, so I'm just gonna give up.

Same happened on UPC analogue cable in Galway in March - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=77705888#post77705888. These are the channels remaining I believe RTÉ1/2, TV3, TG4, 3e, Ch4, BBC1/2, UTV, Sky1, Setanta and Sky News.

    This was UPC:Jason's reply - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=77720696&postcount=82

If you're a subscriber you will be contacted by the cable company regarding the removal of the channels.

If you have a cable connection to the house you should be paying a subscription of some sort - digital TV, broadband or analogue TV. There are no free channels on cable. If you're not paying a sub maybe the cable company haven't disconnected the cable to the house yet.

    Maybe it's Caseyvision (Dungarvan)?

No free channels on ANY Cable or MMDS system. On Cable or MMDS "unencrypted" doesn't mean free. It's actually a criminal offence in Ireland to get channels from ANY MMDS/Cable supplier without payment. "Theft of Service".

No Aerial or Satellite system has all those 10 channels free or in Analogue, therefore it's 100% a pay TV Cable or MMDS system.

The ONLY free Analogue channels in Ireland are via Aerial. RTE1, RTE2, TV3, TG4 and if you can get N.I also BBC1, BBC2, UTV, C4 and Five via an aerial. No others free, anywhere. All close 24th October.

There are ZERO free channels on ANY cable or MMDS.

Only Satellite has free channels in excess of the Terrestrial Aerial ones, and they are now all digital only.

Could it be the UHF 'deflector' system, which I assume is closing shortly?

OP, let us know where in Waterford you are, and how you receive your TV. Do you have a satellite dish? Roof aerial? Cable connection?

PM me and I'll be able to help. I'm in your neck of the woods.

Don't those deflectors only have 4 UHF channel allocations?

Seems it is UPC in Waterford City, as reported in the Waterford City forum.

It's not Dungarvan, MTV and E4 have been off analogue in Dungarvan for years.
