Hi I have a bit of a predicament. I recently joined Navan and summitted 3 cards for my handicap. Before playing I enquired in the pro shop if my cards could be signed my a gui member that is not a member of Navan and was told that it would be fine. So I played 3 rounds with a friend who is a member of another club and summited my 3 cards last week.

I got a text from the hcap sec today saying they will not accept my 3 cards as it has to be signed my a memebr of Navan. The problem is I don't know any members and will not be able to meet members untill I start playing the comps etc but can't play them till I get my hcap so that is the problem.

I am wondering is anyone on here a member of Navan GC that would be willing to play a round or 2 over the next couple of weeks so I can get my cards signed?

No problem really. Just play with members playing in the competition even though you wont be competing. They wont mind and will sign your card.

+1 This is what I did when I joined a club a couple of years ago and there was never any problem.

I'm a member of Navan since 2007, got my h/c in 2009 by playing in 3 open competitions but none of the cards were signed by members of Navan gc so they must have changed that rule. As the other lads said you should be able to play in competitions with members and have them sign your cards. Also make sure you don't pay the entrance fee for the competitions as you won't be competing! When I played for my h/c in the open comps I paid the entrance fees but the pro said afterwards that I shouldn't have paid as I wasn't competing...

I try to get out most sundays in members competitions so if you ever need a playing partner drop me a pm and I'll play with you and sign your card.
