I fail to see how this is in any way superior to a jacket, pants, over shoes and a small bag? If the video wasn't so well produced I'd presume it was a mickey take.

I agree, but bad thing with lycra is that it needs washing after every use, you need to have a considerable amounts of clothes to get you through everyday commuting.
