Does anybody have any experience or ideas on setting up in Mallorca. Heading out next week and have an installer due to call. Looking to pick up BBC's, ITV's etc, might even bring my Sky box out with me.

I know i'll need a 1.4 or 1.6m dish to get good reception. Any ideas on what I should be paying for dish and installation? Dish on roof and cable running two floor levels to apartment.

    I'd appreciate any ideas!
    Thanks!

It looks as if all regarding reception and footprints is very much up in the air and the advice is not to invest too much in a set up

I had a 1.8 dish in Madrid at one point and was only able to get RTE reception & BBC 2 reception up til about 18.00

A lot of the sky main own branded encypted channels (Sky sports etc) are still on a wide beam (I feel because sky know there is a lot of revenue coming from the English/Irish bars in the holiday resorts abroad, so loss of reception of them there would mean a big loss in revenue). Even the Encypted RTE channels have moved to the UK sport beam 1N satellite and they are not receivable any further south than mid France on a mid size dish (Under 1m)

    Thanks for the help.

Managed to use an existing 1.2m dish and getting all the free to air channels, no break up in the evenings too. I hope it lasts!

That's very good. Didn't think that was possible. I've friends in south France that have lost BBC 1 HD etc recently since the changeover to 1n
