Tricep pain while benching. What's happening?

As title suggests i've started to get a pain in my right tricep when i'm benching. It's happened during my last two chest workouts to the point where i've had to stop. I've felt it on my first working set. It's not a severe pain just this annoying tingling/burning that i've never had before. It first happened last week when i tried lifting a weight i hadn't lifted before. it was only an extra 2.5 kgs to what i lifted the previous day with no problem. Now i know my form wasn't perfect as i was struggling but i still pushed out 8 reps. The pain started on the first set of this weight. I tried a second set but the tricep just felt all wrong. I might add that i'm only lifting 70kgs so not exactly huge weight.

Now the same thing is after happening at this mornings workout and i had to stop. Even as i'm typing this i can feel it in my right tricep. It's not a pain but it's like small strain.

I workout chest and triceps together so needless to say i havn't even tried directly working the tricep for fear of injury.

So what should i do? Stop working chest and tricep for a while? Stop working out all together for a few weeks? Man up and stop being a pussy? This is really pissing me off so any advice would be great.

It sounds to me like you have a small injury due to an overlaod of the muscle. I'd give the upperbody a bit of a break for a week or two or at least cut back on the training to let your muscle get back to 100%. It's better to let it heal while its just an annoyance rather than let it get any worse. If your form isn't always correct then you should probably do more machine work so that you can prevent any further injury

Is your grip very narrow and therefore hitting your triceps harder than your chest?

To be honest, it's guess work for anyone on here - go to a physio.
