Peugeot 206 indicator stalk

Hi, I have Peugeot 206, 2002, 1.1l engine. I have a problem with indicator working properly. Sometimes indicator doesn't turn on, other times after turning left/right and getting back to straight indicator switches to other side. I assume I'll have to replace it, just not sure how much it will cost and is it easily done (do i have to go to garage to get it done?). Other problem is drivers seat not moving all the way back and getting stuck midway. Some small part fell out of the rail, which seems to be broken seat slider (not sure about correct term for it). Part of it is missing so I'm guessing it's stuck in seat rail. That gives me few questions: first being - can it be replaced without taking seat out (also can i get it in scrapyard?), second being - been told I'll fail NCT if I wont fix it. Thanks for any advice :)

The stalk is probably a comms unit, famous in 206s... I assume the horn sometimes stops working too? 380 part new from Peugeot, about sixty euro from scrapyards ...

Can't help you with seat, doubt it's an NCT fail but download the handbook on www.ncts.ie

I recently bought a Citroen indicator stalk on ebay - power seller called French Automotive Parts Ltd. Just over half dealer price, genuine part, delivered just as quick as dealer. 10 mins to install.

I've seen it one ebay for 100 (p&p) including, but I hate returns policy and all the hassle if part appears to be faulty. I'll try my luck in scrapyards tomorrow.

A faulty bsi could also cause erratic wiper/indicator behaviour...if the
indicator is'nt returning then the spring inside the coms unit has become weak...If you know someone with dealer level diagnostic equipment then they
maybe able to pin point which is at fault..:)

Would that explain why indicator doesn't turn on? Because sometimes I have to press it few times to turn it on

You really need to get it hooked up to peugeot planet to rule out whether its the coms unit or the bsi thats at fault.
