    could anyone tell me the difference between the following:
    ge series ne c20 and
    ge series e c20
    just need to see if there is a big difference.

    Perhaps it is the short circuit capacity of the MCB.
    This has sort of similar coding.
    According to their catalog


    Short circuit capacity..........Series
    3000...................................E90N
    4500...................................E90E
    6000...................................E90 / E880
    10000 .................................E90S / E880S
    25000..................................S90 - Selective

    could be breaking capacity alright
    most c20 would usually be 6 afaik or some even 10ka now
    Older breakers were 3

    cheers for the replies.can get someone to replace the ne c20 but they can only get an e c20 would that do the same job do ya think?

    a newer model would usually have a higher BC
    If that is the difference you can check the short circuit current at the board
