Best resource when looking for IT jobs?

    Hi

I'm a software developer currently in employment, but looking for a new job at the moment. I put my CV up on monster.ie but had to take it down as I was being blitzed by recruiters - I got 9 phone calls between 8am-9am on Friday morning while I was in work, all mentioning jobs that were far more senior than my current experience level or just not relevant to the skills listed on my CV. I put myself forward for a few roles but the majority I would say are dead ends for the reasons listed above.

I'm just wondering what the best route is these days for finding software jobs. I actually found my current job by Googling "irish software company" but I'd like to use something that properly lists the job spec and requirements, so I'm just wondering what the knowledgeable folk on boards use :)

As an aside, do most people still put their mobile numbers on their CV?
I much prefer email for those sorts of communications because you have an exact record of the conversation, you can reply at your own convenience and it's discreet, which is especially important for things like job hunting?

    Thanks

I get the same, I only have my email address on my CV. I get emails from recruiters saying they have a position suiting my profile, but when I reply they cant send me the job spec and want to discuss job target, industry etc and then never hear from them again. I call them rather than giving them my number, and then i hen peck them for info regarding experience, job trend etc

I would only put email. As you can receive many calls during working hours from them, I find email is best.

Best to sign up with a specific IT recruiter agency/company. They have a better idea what you are looking for rather than any recruiter.

If there is Chase Resource Recruitment near you have a look into them, Eolas and a few others focus on IT recruitment in particular along with a few other areas but its mainly IT. Morgan McKinley might be another recruitment agency to look into as well.

Yes I'd advise just to put in email, I find I be bombarded with private calls from recruiters and its just a nuisance.

Might be worth having a look on linkedin too.
