Hey lads I'm heading down to Waterford with herself and the little fella for a couple of nights on Monday and was gonna throw the clubs in the booth and try get out early one of the mornings for a round? So was wondering if anybody could recommend a half decent course for a fair price.. I know I could of googled a few courses but I'd rather a few boardies opinions?

    Cheers

I'm a member in Tramore, but I would say that it's the best course in the county. It's about 15-20 minutes drive from the City.

Waterford Castle would be my next favourite in the county. Not the toughest, but I've always enjoyed rounds there.

Tramore is a great course, played there last November and looking forward to heading back there with my society this September. Also, Dungarvan Golf Club is really nice, and somewhat under appreciated.

I've heard great things about Waterford Castle, as mentioned above, but i've never played there myself.

Tramore is a really good course, my fav in the county.
Waterford is a nice track, old style fairly tight.
Dungarvan is a good course, though not too difficult unless the wind gets up.
West Waterford is prob the best course in the Dungarvan region.
Dunmore East is not the greatest course but offers the best views of the sea, and has one of the best par 3's in the county.
Williamstown, sorry but I just never took to this course.

I played Dunmore East a few weeks ago - I agree about that par 3 (14th?), it's brilliant.

Such a strange course - first few holes are as boring as you will find anywhere, same with 10-13 but the 14-17, once you hit the coast line, are lovely. Particularly enjoyed the tee shot over the cliff face (I think it's the 15th)

A dozen of us from our club in Dublin play this area each year mainly in Dungarvan GC and West Waterford GC which we all like. We played Waterford GC last year and enjoyed it and found the people friendly and helpful. It's close to the city. They treated us well in Tramore the year before but some of us preferred the old Tramore course to the new one.
