I was involved in a car accident some time ago.

The insurance company who I am claiming against didn't show to settlement meeting that was arranged in the law Library.

My solicitor has now informed me that he was authorized to issue proceedings....
Not 100% sure what this means - I'm assuming it means that my case will now go to court ?
how long will I be waiting before I get a court date ? what is the usual time frame?

    also...
Has anyone else involved in an accident ever had a similar situation and what was their experience/out come ?

    Thanks.

If the Injuries Board has issued an Authorisation then you can issue a personal injury summons. Typically 12-24 months from now should see your case settled or set down for a trial.

Don't take the above as a rule but just as a general indication, your case might be different.

Legally all personal injury cases must go through the personal injuries board.

Authorization basically allows you to take it to court if you so wish. Presume your solicitor needs to prepare papers and submit them to court.... many others will be better able to give you the ins and outs of that.
