this focus is killing me lads...dpf being removed and remapped next week by joe power as recommended by corkie
next problem ... drivers electric seat is now acting up...the back part of the seat will move forward towards you but it wont move backwards which now leaves the seat in quite an uncomfortable position for me to drive in... surely its the same motor that moves it forwards as well as backwards?? is there anyway to manually move the seat back to the right position??/
i have checked the fuses first
    thanks

Check for loose connections for starters. Does the car have an electric passenger seat too? If so, try swapping over the switches.

had a good look today anan and didnt come across any loose connections...no just the drivers seat is electric..could be a switch problem maybe?

Could try and see if you can rotate the connector at the back of the switch. Chances are this is your problem if the block connector at the base of the seat is alright.

would i need to remove the whole plastic trim around the switch? or just take off the switch cover ??

Small flat head screwdriver and some care should get it off. Maybe an old rag over it.

I'd google remove electric seat switch focus, or whatever, there's bound to be a how-to out there.

Clean the switch. Buy this or similar.
