My slow sensation has prompted me to install a third party rom, but the question is which one? I've used cyanogen mod in the past and noticed that nightlys have just been released for the sensation, but thought I'd check here first for recommendations.

I do like sense so a Rom that retains it would be a bonus, but I could certainly live without it.

I stuck CM9 on my Sensation XE over the weekend and it's zipping along. Obviously, with CM there is no HTC Sense.

The only thing that isn't working is the camera but that is most likely the build I used as according to some posts on the CM forum for Sensation, it was working previously.

Just incase you don't know yet, here's where you'll find info about Sensation ROMs and rooting etc.

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1109

I've just moved from a Sensation to an S3 but I did try alot of the ROMs in the past,

    my recommendations would be
Revolution if you want Sense 3.6
InsertCoin if you want Sense 4.0

TBH, there's loads of good ROMs in there, but the best thing for you would be to read as much as you can in there and then try a few, it's all about just gaining confidence, no-one is going to spell things out unfortunately, it may seem daunting at first, but once you get your head around things, you'll realise just how simple the whole process is.

Ah yeah I know. I've been through it all before with the G1 and the Desire, but there was a lot less to choose from back then!

Just thought I'd ask in case there was a generally accepted best ROM, but from the bit of reading I've done now there seems to be at least 3 or 4 main ones worth trying.
