    Hey there,
Was wondering if you could give me an idea if what UCC Dental hospital are charging for an implant is reasonable?

I think I'm looking at the right prices?
But 5k for an implant and a crown seems a bit high?

Very high implant fees especially for a teaching instituiton where you may be treated by a less experienced operator and have waiting lists etc...

Pm me if you want the name of a specialist clinic in cork that will do better than that...

Not too sure if I'll be loosing those teeth yet. Hopefully wont.

I've been referred to a periodontist there by one of the dentists in the clinic they have.
They took X-rays and could see around 50% bone loss around two of my lower front teeth which is why he referred me.

My normal dentist in cork thinks with proper cleaning and care the teeth should last.

I'd rather avoid implants seeing as they cost a fortune and I'm still a student.

Can anything normally be done to save such teeth?
They wiggle a little when moved. Hurt sometimes and one of them (ever since my last cleaning) has slowly started to move and fill in the gap in the middle

I am shocked by how high those prices in a teaching hospital are, a private specialist with the same qualifications and similar clinical experience will cost about half that.....BTW the implant is 1300 and the crown on it is 5000 so that 6300 in total, total joke.

Well at this stage I've been waiting a few months for the referral for a consult and still nothing! But I've looked up the guy I was referred to and he looks to be top class so might be worth the wait.

Anyone know of the chances of saving the teeth? (Like in general saving teeth with severe bone loss)

Do bone grafts work to save teeth as well or just to give a good foundation for implants?

And if someone can PM the name and website of a /good/ private periodontist in cork / kerry / limerick I'd appreciate it!
