Anyone take up membership there recently? 250 pay as you play, 460 5 day (you can play weekend comps for 20e) and full for 650. Outstanding value. I know it has its critics with 6 par 3's etc.

    Opinions?

Come further down the N7 & you will get better value...

Depends how far you're willing to travel. Played City West a few years ago and it's ok in fairness but as you said 6 par 3's

Check out some clubs in Kildare, Laois & Offaly

The likes of Highfield, Woodlands, and Blessington lakes compete with them prices but certainly not course quality. Played City West last week and was well impressed with the condition.

Well yeah i mean i would be getting into distance membership territory. Imo your home course needs to be localish. If you intend making the most of it that is.

True, 30min travel time max to your home course is enough...

Totally agree. Nice to be as convenient as possible if you get a chance to head out for a game mid week or in the evening at short notice.

Nice course, in good nick usually, cheap and good location , but for me , it's just not tough enough, the back 9, especially the stretch 10-15 are very weak , I play off 11 but would be dissapointed with anything more than about 7 over round there.

joined citywest about 2 weeks ago €250 pay&play, whe i was paying i was informed the price would only be 185+20gui for the rest of the year, happy days...i already have my gui card and handicap..the course is immaculate, greens are superb..tee boxes clean and tidy. i hear what people are saying about par 3's but that doesn't bother me at all. there are no hills or mountains..everyone i've met up there has been very helpful too..playin my first comp tomorrow!! c'mon!!
