    Hi,

Thinking of trying out Simmental this year to breed some replacements. I use Progressive Genetics AI.

I see Curaheen Apostle is the main Simmental Bull. Anyone tried him what is he like for calving and for replacement cows. Any other under rated simmental bulls to be considered.

Have some big powerful Charolais cows thinking of crossing on these.

    Thanks.

    Hi
If you have big cows Hillcrest Sylvester would also be a good option

first reports are that he's easy calving.
bull himself is very muscly but not terribly big for a simmental
probably would suit big charolais cows.

ZBF is the other new bull. No calves yet but dont expect him to be easy calved. very impressive bull visually though

    Hi,

Curaheen apostle seems to carry for a long time, I hope calving is still easy. Have a Charolais cow in calf to him now at 294 days. This is longer than the Charolais bulls I use. Is he know to carry for a long time

I seen a few calves by him and they were very handy, dont know about gestation.

APZ - ICBF have him at only one star for gestation, so poor. 290 days average (99% Rel). Easy calving at 5%.
