Pub/restaurant Ballsbridge area with 2 teenagers?

Have friends visiting from the US at the moment and am trying to arrange somewhere to catch up with them tonight. They have two teenagers (14 and 17) so not sure if that limits our options. Aware that it's a Friday night too so places will be busier.

Any suggestions for somewhere we can meet and have a good chat, ideally around Ballsbridge. Only place that comes to mind is The Merrion and the food was awful last time I was in there.

    Thanks!

Bel&bellucci in ballsbridge is a nice, modern italian. Facing the RDS.

Also upstairs in Donnybrook Fair have a special on at the minute. 20euro 2 courses and 25euro 3 courses. Was there last week and the food is excellent.

Roly's is good. Opposite the US embassy incidentally.

Baan Thai Ballsbridge is the best restaurant in Dublin not just Ballsbridge IMO.

Lovely place, but isn't cheap. Also I know for Sunday lunches you usually need to book a table 2 or 3 weeks in advance.
