Personally I would wait for the Transformer Pad Infinity or the new Nexus tablet.

The rumour and speculation is August for the Infinity and July for the Nexus.
The usual problem with tech, buy now or buy later.

The Xoom 2 looks to be a waste of space to me. Go for an Acer A510 if anything but you'd be as well off waiting - it's not like the Xoom is obsolete or underperforming.

Why would someone want to upgrade from the Xoom?

I have the first gen Xoom and while there are faults with it, I don't think any Android tablet will resolve them.

Is it for gamers where the latest games lag on the original Xoom?

    Genuinely curious...

I agree, it is a bit early to upgrade from the first gen Android tablet unless you are thinking of switching to a 7inch. Certainty I plan to stick to my Transformer until next year. I think the euro Xoom lacks ICS and that might be a reason to consider an upgrade if it wasn't so easy to put US firmware on an euro tablet.
