I just bought Hanna on DVD, rated 15, I saw this film in the cinema when it was out.
I've just watched the first 20 mins and there are a number of scenes cut/edited from the cinema version, is the a good reason for this?
Was the cinema release rate 18?

    What's missing?

When she brushes her teeth at the beginning it a lot shorter and you don't see the blood. When Hanna is picked up from the forest the fighting is cut as is her escape from the interrogation cell.
It's just lacking a lot of the highly choreographed fighting.

In Britian the cinema release was a 12A

The listing has the film at 111 mins. How long is the DVD?

    106 mins
Seems the video is cut. That's really annoying!
It's lost some of it's flow but only because I know there should be something there.

I just looked at the IFCO database, it's cut the same here for DVD and theater

The difference in length from the theatrical release is just PAL speed-up. All UK DVDs have slightly shorter runtimes as a result. You'd need the Blu-ray to confirm as they don't have this problem.

According to the BBFC it was passed uncut. It was 12 in the cinema and it's still 12 on DVD. Is it possible you are just remembering it incorrectly?
