The most important thing is preparation work tbh. Make sure the surface is 150% clean before going near it with a DA, otherwise you'll risk doing more harm than good.

Wash the car 2BM with washing up liquid, that'll get rid of all wax, polish, everything already on the car.

De-tar, De-ironise if you have some, clay, then wash the car again to get any residue off. Then dry it and you're ready for masking.

Work in small areas (1/4s on th bonnet, etc). When you first put the polish on the pad, lightly put it down and just "blitz" it on/off a few times to get the polish into the pad properly and not send it flying everywhere.

After DA'ing an area, seal/wax it.

Apart from that, Metzgermeister will be along shortly :D

    Cheers man,
Thats great! I clayed the car two weeks ago, will i still have to do that?
And is it important to get rid of wax and sealants first?? I never would have thought about that!

Ah no, you wouldn't have to clay it again after such a short time. Claying will remove the heavy containiments embedded on the paint surface, and should only be done every 6 to 12 months, depending. Follow that proceedure above and you won't stress too much after.

Good stuff, I would do it if necessary but relieved its not :) really looking forward to this now, but have a feeling it will be time consuming! Can I expect awesome results?! Because I have high hopes lol! :p

You car was fully cleaned recently.
I would just give it a good wash and dry, Tape it up and start with the D A as it will strip off any wax/sealant you have put on it.
Take your time as CM said.
