Sky+ to Sky+Hd

    Hi i just bought a Sky+HD Box but i have a lot of recordings on my Sky+ Box can you transfer the recordings from one Sky Box to Another..

    yes, but not simple . have a look at copy+ . you need to remove the hard drives and transfer via PC.

    U cannot transfer the files to another box they will not work, copyplus is simply for copying files from one drive to a larger one to return back to the same box.

    All recordings are paired to the card/box they were made on.

    I thought it would work as the op would be using the same card on the hd box. .
    Could the hard drives be swapped perhaps?

    Recordings are paired to the card and box they were recorded on and cannot be exchanged, u can copy them to a larger drive and returned only to the same machine the recordings were made on.

    John mac is correct. I have copied over recordings from 2006 on my original Pace Sky+ box ,to a Thomson Hd box and from that to to my present Samsung HD box. Copy+ was what was always used successfully until Sky began using a new Darwin software. However,the good news is that a new tool called EXPVR is now available free of charge which overcomes Darwin and permits upgrading to larger drives or a new box ( once you use the same Sky card, of course).
