Structural Engineer For Timber Frame Attic Conversion

    Hi All,

I've been looking into getting my attic converted in a timber frame end of terrace house.

From what I've read, converting it can be a bit of a minefield. Quotes I've got from different builders range from 10 - 20k, most of them contradicting each other on what can & can't be done.

I think the best thing now would be to get an engineer in to have a look and tell me what can be done & how it should be done.

Has anyone any experience calling in an engineer for a similar project in a timber frame house.

    Any prices / recommendations appreciated
