    Guys,

Heading on holidays to China next month and will more than likely miss the Senior Football Provincial Finals.

I know that RTE Player doesn't work outside of Ireland.

Anyone know where I can stream (legally) GAA matches abroad?

I'm not so sure that there would be many bars showing a Mayo v Sligo Connacht Final

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I believe Setanta.com is the only legal site for viewing overseas.

Please note that debating/discussing/informing on how to bypass security/copyright in a public forum is against the law in Ireland at the moment, if anyone wants to PM the Op I can't do anything about that though.

Setanta is the only place to legally stream but the quality is brutal. The stream is low quality and not great for watching especially if you try and watch full screen. They should at least provide the option of streaming it in HD, espeically with the price they charge.

They give you a sample somewhere on the site so that will give you a preview of what to expect.

Upcoming games that they are showing, and the demo is in the top right.

In the UK it is Premier Sports http://www.premiersports.tv/index/ Alternatively some of the Ulster Championship games are broadcast on BBC Ulster

    thats dissapointing to hear.

I've never used the setanta pay per view stream but if the quality is really that bad then I wont be temped to do so in the future. Not for 20dollars a pop anyhow.
And from the test image with little to no demand I can well believe that the quality is pretty poor.

I actually used the Watch GAA Online service (Setanta is behind it)

Found out about it through @watchgaaonline.

They seem to have changed the model and are now using a U-Stream channel which is much more efficient than the old streaming service.

    <Snip>

Tested it out last weekend ( in Spain for the Summer) and it worked a treat. Planning to buy a season pass in the next few days :)

OP - I'll try and take screenshots this weekend and post them :)

I know I'm being a pain by snipping links, but that's the law, sorry

    Thanks lads.

Planning to go with the Setanta service on the back of a posters recommendation.

    Seems the most reliable.

    Cheers :)

http://setanta-i.com/ now seems to be a tenner (US dollars) a game.

That's now a far more manageable price that the outlandish 20dollars they were originally looking for.

Its just a pity they dont have the odd big game that isnt being televised in Ireland, like say the Cavan Kildare qualifier game that might see Seanie Johnsons first outing for the Lilly Whites.

Showing it abroad in USA, Europe, Asia or Australia is absolutely no threat to the gate takings on the day.
The live feed is normally there as the lads over on the Satellite fourm will tell you so its only a matter of Setanta tapping into it .

i dont think setanta have anything to do with gate receipts. additionally setanta will only show something if it makes business sense to do so.

    Hi Guys,

If anyone could PM me any other 'options' besides setanta to watch GAA abroad I would be eternally grateful. Kerryman stuck in the bush in SOuth Africa and I need my GAA fix badly,

    Thanks..

mmmm, the link i posted above is not the current one.

from the setanta website the i-setanta site that I linked to is being withdrawn on july 31st
The alternatives offered by setanta (aka premium sports) are

    For USA/ Canada (19.99 dollars a game):
    http://www.ustream.tv/gaappv

    for outside USA/Canada (9.99 dollars a game):

if you are in the bush then your internet is probably bad to non existant

what you can seemingly get though is a satellite package called Top TV for 99rand a month (less than 10 euro) which has a clatter of channels incl Setanta Sports (+eurosport and a few others).

you can see what setanta africa offers here:

Setanta had a stroke of genius and ARE now going to show live games online that arent available live on TV in Ireland (that they already own the rights for AND have the live feed from the ground)

So for those OUTSIDE of Ireland and not able to make it to the game in person you now have the following extra live games (over the ones TV3 / RTE have announced are showing) online pay per view for at least ten dolla per game depending on the game!

GAA Football Championship: Tipperary vs Wexford
    Beginnt am 14/07/2012 4:00 CET

GAA Hurling Championship: Wexford vs Cork
    Beginnt am 14/07/2012 6:00 CET

    outside of USA/ Canada
    http://www.ustream.tv/GAAOnlinePPV
    in the USA / Canada
    http://www.ustream.tv/gaappv

NO Cavan v Kildare there so it looks like I'll not be giving setanta my well earned cash this time (unless the wife makes me pay for the Cork game the night before!)

I see they have all 4 quarter finals this weekend....Looks like I'll be spending a lot of time on the laptop in the hotel room :)
