No you don't. One licence will do.

    More detailed info here.

yeah all you have to do is some re wiring make sure you can connect the extra channels on to your other tv stations,if you have the extra sky channels they come to your home to set it up and they only allow you to have them in one room, kinda sucks but you can get around it..but no you dont have to get another license for the extra tv..

    Thanks lads.
But if that new TV ever left the bounds of my house/ ended up in another house, could one then be fined for not having a licence for it.
    Or how does it work.

Basically a tv licence covers u for as many tv's as u have at your house if you then give away or sell a tv its up to the then owner of that tv to get a licence for it or it would be covered under their existing licence..

You don't register your tv like a car.

Here's the kicker, though: If you have another house, and you bring you *own* tv, (that you've already licenced for your main dwelling) to it, you have to buy another licence. First world problems, eh? :)
(I might hasten to add I don't know this from experience :))

I thought tv licence queries were banned from this forum?

A TV licence is registered to an address and covers any TV reception equipment at that address.

Moving the TV to another house is no problem provided that new address has a valid TV licence.

If moving house the TV licence can be transferred. If you're taking the TV temporarily to a holiday home/second home/rented accommodation, that location must have its own TV licence.

If a premises with Bedsits has a kitchen in the Bedsit, then each one needs it's own licence as technically it's a separate dwelling even if bathroom/toilet shared. Sharing a kitchen comprises a single dwelling.

However if there is no kitchen, one TV licence is still needed.
