The case is just going to be holding drives really. There gonna be WD Caviar Green 2tb to keep heat down.

This is the case I was looking at as its cheap and seems of decent build. Most importantly it can hold 12 drives
    Revoltec Fifty 3 €33,01.

Nice price and should fit:4 x 4-in-3 Drive Cagesnicely. The price on them is horrible though compared to non hot-swap cages. 3 times the price actually

Since it dosent come with fans im going to get 3 x Enermax Magma 12x12cm or 3 x Scythe Slip Stream 120 mm, 1600rpm

Ive read some decent reviews on both. Anyone had any experience with them?

    Thanks

I would say go with the Bit Fenix Merc Alpha it looks to be a cracking little case .

This is a full review of the case

Yeh everyone I have asked has always suggested the merc.
If you need the space for 12 drives the revoltec would be ok, its not the best quality and their is no cable management so you would need to be careful their and also their are several sharp edges which you should be wary of.

Thanks for that smileyj1987. Longest review ive seen for anything in a while. Seems like its worth the money alright though.

The only slight concern I have is air movement fover the drives. Thats why im kinda now leaning towards the Antec Three Hundred
    http://www.antec.com/demo/ThreeHundred/ .
Its 50e from hardwareversand, has 2 120mm fans it in already and 2 can go in the front of the case, blowing over the drives.

So if it holds 6 x 3.5 drives straight out of the box, could I just add a 5 bay back plane and be ok to hold 11 hdds? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Icy-Box-IB-545SSK-5-Bay-Channel/dp/B006BQYSFA

That should be enough for now I say. Does it seem ok?

Yeah that would be perfect sorry for not replying earlier . So did you go with what you decided ??

    No problem man.

No I ended up with the Fractal Design Core 3000.

3 speed controlled fans in it and its pretty slick (plain black and has cable management). I didn't want anything showy for my server, just a clean look.

Seems to be doing the job so far, my drives arent going above 30c yet anyway

    60e from HVS.
