Auris, Golf or Focus- Advice Pls

A friend of mine is looking to buy a new car van, he has been looking at the auris, Golf and Focus.
    It’ll cost him:
13000 plus Vat for an Auris
15300 plus vat for a Focus
He hasn’t got a price for a golf van, having difficulty getting a price

Question is, Is the Focus worth more than the Auris, I have read bad reviews of the Auris.
Is there anything he has overlooked. Kia, Renault etc, He would like a car version van if possible.
He hasn’t driven any yet, I have tested an auris before and didnt mind it.

He doesn’t need the van to carry any loads, he is a commercial traveller and has small work stuff in the back, it just makes sense to as he is Vat registered.

are they still making a golf van? I thought they had finished doing them? The caddy had took over in the small van section?

How about an astra van. You can get plenty of normal astras that are vans and again are good value for money.

I'd buy this over some of the other ones you mention, I assume out of your price though, but you can still get the older model astra for cheeper than the equivalent focus http://www.carzone.ie/search/Opel/Astra/1.3CDTI-/14413401175319730/advert?channel=CARS

Is that the Astra Sporthatch van or the estate based van? I would imagine the Astra estate van would be alot cheaper.

Also the Kia Procee'd van might be still available. Afaik there is no longer a Golf van. Maybe a Caddy is an option?

The one i linked too is neither just a 5 door regular astra.
Also I think the Focus van is no longer available either, unless you can find a garage that happens to have one lying around in stock.
