    Where would I see the Engine No on a 05 seat Ibiza 1.9 diesel engine

    Should be 3 letters on the top of your timing cover case if I'm not mistaken

    As above - on a sticker with a bar code at the top of the plastic timing belt cover.

    It's also on a sticker on the inside cover of the Service Schedule book. It'll be a 3 letter code like AEX, AHU, etc. An identical sticker is also in the spare wheel well. See a sample of a sticker in the link below. In this case the engine code is BLT. (The gearbox code is not present in the example - it should be on the right on same line as the engine code).

    If you still can't find it then just call a Seat dealer and give them your chassis number and they should be able to get your engine code from that.
