I plan to move into a apartment in Custom House Harbour, IFSC, D1.

I notice there's a high wall between the apartment and lower sheriff st & commons st.

Is this place safe and quite?

    Thanks guys.

Its safe till you don't venture out on Sheriff's st end during odd hours.

The wall is there since the area was full of bonded warehouses. Sheriff Street used to be very rough, but the 50-100 times I've been in the area, I've never had trouble.

More colourfully, there was an extended family north of Sheriff Street who were fond of throwing hand grenades at each other, but that seems to have quietened down as a leading figure is in prison.

Just wondering what this area is like to live in?

is it safe to walk around at night etc?

I'd imagine quite isolated at the weekend due to where it is

Was living there for almost 2 years

I'd say it is one of the best place in city center. But you'd better find newer apartment, cause old ones come with almost no sound proof.

It's ok if you heading towards river side during night... by night I mean before 10PM.

Thanks for reply. I've mixed opinions about it. Place looks nice but few shady folk around that area i've noticed

It really depend on which apartment within IFSC, if it is custom house harbour, it is alright, as long as you do not bother some noisy party during weekend...(Personally I can not... light sleeper myself...)

I will suggest you try Spencer dock or Clarion Quay if you have more budget. I stayed within friend's some times.
