I am setting up a small on line business
some of the products i am going to import to Ireland. obviously duty + vat applies.
but there is ... something that i wanna do as well. as i am quiet tight on budget, some of the clothes i plan to sell on ebay , facebook etc as per "drop in". this means the manufacturer will ship separate items directly to the customer ( as pre order shipping )
so my question to this board is. is the duty and vat still applicable ? i mean i will be just acting as a seller ( one item might be worth around 25-30e )
so for instance i pay the manufacturer 20 euros ( product + shipping fee) and i sell it for 25 euros and my profit is 5 euros . what taxes in this does apply ?

Rfusik - you've raised a number of specific queries in relation to the taxation implications of starting your own business.

I suggest you get professional advice on the matter.

I'm closing this thread as it's beyond the scope of this forum.
