Bad or good idea to get part-time job during PLC course?

I am doing a PLC course this september and I wanted to start finding a part-time job as soon as possible to start making my own money for college afterwards, but is that a good idea to do it this year?
I mean since a PLC is a one year course, would it be a better idea to focus on the work for that, rather than to be having a job to worry about too? I know college is hard too, but at least it's around four years and broken up into lectures. I am doing Photography, btw, does that involve a lot of work?
