    Hi All

I am wondering how much a person must earn to claim a tax credit? My wife earned €2k in 2011 and as I'm self employed and we're jointly assessed I am wondering can I claim a PAYE tax credit for her and if so how much?

    Thanks in advance.

It would be to 20% of her earnings through PAYE, subject to the annual limit.

In this case assuming that the €2K was earned in PAYE employment then you could claim €400 as a tax credit.
