Battery Low - Simon Security System

I have an alarm in my house which is 60-911 Simon 3 series which was used for the remote monitoring via Eircom phone watch. Currently its being used as just a conventional house alarm but the disarm and system status lights are staying on.

When i press the system status button it states that the battery is low and it will emit 6 beeps every minute or so unless i disarm which delays the beeps for a few hours. Could someone advise if i can change the battery myself or should a specialist be called, if this is something i could do is the alarm built in to the control box or is it located away from the unit itself?

The simon is an all in one unit .. .turn off the power at the spur box ( white box with orange light) At the top of the panel is a little tab , if you push this down the front of the panel should swing downwards , you'll then be asked to " use numbered keys to enter ID " enter your user code . Get a flat head screw driver and stick it into the tab at the top of the panel and carefully prise upwards and the unit should pop out and swing downwards ... The battery is held in by two clips . Carefully pull the leads from the battery and remove :) the battery can be located from the suppliers list cost €35-€40 .. Is he saying "system low battery" or " sensor ****** low battery

Thanks for the reply’s. I’m not sure where the spur box is located as i am not long in the property, I’m assuming that it’s a separate unit away from the control box but i will have another look around the house.

Yes i think system battery low is what its saying. Previously it mentioned back door battery low but it turned out that the cover on the sensor was not on correctly and when refitted it resolved the issue.

I would like to get someone to give the alarm a clean bill of health, would most alarm specialists be able to cater for this system or would i need a Simon specialist. I suppose its best to ring and get clarification or would anyone know of a Simon specialist in Cork City?

Any installer should be able to do this for you.

Thanks for all the replys, i think i will just get someone to take a look at the system for me and make sure that every thing else is ok as well.

That's probably the best. There are some suppliers and installers listed in the sticky here.
