I also have this in the DIY section but only saw this forum now.
We've a lime problem and it mainly effects the Triton shower. When we moved in the Triton that was here went after a few months, now the one we bought is going again.
Is there any kind of filter that can go between the tank and the shower or will this restrict the flow needed? Would a water softener on the mains coming in would be the only thing or would it even work?
The only thing I can seem to find online is a filter from the shower to the shower head.

What are the sysptoms? Did it burn out or temperature fluctuations? If fluctuations have you tried steeping the head in vinegar overnight?

Its starting to burn out i think. Its either unbearably hot or cold. We steep the head every now and then but its the shower itself thats getting screwed from lime. IIRC Triton have now sealed the insides of the showers which prevents cleaning them out...so you have to buy a new one?
If there was a filter between the tank and the shower would the shower adjust the heating of the water for the amount of flow coming through the element?
Its really annoying as we have to turn the pressure to II to get some kind of temp control and thats just lukewarm.
Also when it's turned off it stays making a hushing/hissing noise. Presume its the element roasting itself to death?

There is a filter inside the shower just where the water inlet is. You will need to turn the water off before you open it. Could be stuff in that.
