Have to replace the old 630mm wheels on my OHs bike. What size wheels will suit for replacement. Currently running 32-630 tyres as an idea for clearance, would like to run similar again. If you can still get these size wheels, does anyone know where I would look?

SJS cycles do 630mm rims and tyres and I think they do complete wheels in that size too.
Alternatively, depending on the clearance you might be able to fit a 700c using long reach brakes.

EDIT: Rims aren't good. Thats what I get for not paying attentions. Best rims that can be got for the 630mm size are the Sun CR18. The SJSC one's are generic ones that I'm not too sure of the quality. They are a tough, durable rim. Alternative to that new is a Velocity Dyad rim, they are very tough to come by in Europe though. Otherwise search adverts, 27inch wheelsets often pop up for under 20 quid.

If your going to switch, your going to need new brakes that are long reach (Tektro do them for about 60 euros a set) and of course new 700c wheels (with a freewheel hub, if you don't want to reset the frame spacing).

Holyboy might have a few lying about his shop. Might be worth asking.

By the way, I've got some old 27 inch wheels that you can have for free, I don't have any use for them because they're pretty crappy.

They're steel rims, maillard hubs, five speed block, tyres probably need to be replaced and there's some surface rust (I'll have to strip off the tyres and rim-tape to make sure there's no serious rusting on the inside of the rim but I think they should be ok) but last time I looked (about a year ago) they were reasonably true and they're free.

If you part-exchange the OH for a larger model hopefully you'll end up with fully interchangeable systems;)

That's be great, have some new tyres and tubes on the way but I'd definitely take these from you. Don't worry about the rust, I can clean that up myself, are you sure about this, very generous.

Steel rims need decent brake pads though, they are at a distinct disadvantage compared to aluminium alloy rims in the wet. I would recommend some Kool Stop salmon brake blocks when changing to steel rims.

    Otherwise they are fine.

You're sorted them. Steel rims look lovely polished up and some tan wall tyres.

Right, well I dug them out and stripped them down and while the outside of the rims are just a bit speckled and tarnished here and there, the inside of the rim (under the tyre) appears to be very rusty to the point of being positively flaky in some areas. Methinks they might be beyond sensible use. Sorry about that.

No bother, read your post and went straight and bought a set of wheels with alloy rims. No Name/No brand but hopefully they will be alright.

They will be just fine but the rear hub is probably spaced at 135mm as cheap hubs are mass produced at that spacing these days, instead of jamming it into the frame I think it would be better to re-space the axle and re-dish the wheel, where ever you got them should be able to do it for a few quid.
