A friend of mine regularily puts posts pics of her young children after passing their latest grading (green belts, orange&white belts most recently). The oldest child is only 9

I trained BJJ for a while (a few yrs back) and appreciate the time and effort and skill required to achieve any grade/belt.

Is this JuJutsu different to Jiu Jitsu? Or is it another of these martial arts which will be no use in an actual physical confrontation ?

As far ad Bjj and jjj go they are very different-my guess is that they are getting jr belts and would start to grade as an adult when old enough-that's how it is in Bjj anyway-so even though there is a historical link between them there as different as tkd and Kung fu are.
