Facing 2nd power shower in under 18months

We've a lime problem and it mainly effects the Triton shower.When we moved in the Triton that was here went after a few months, now the one we bought is going again. Is there any kind of filter that can go between the tank and the shower or will this restrict the flow needed? Would a water softener on the mains coming in…

The only thing I can seem to find online is a filter from the shower to the shower head.
