Thread here before. If you already have a Saorview box it should work with non-subscription programmes.

Better to buy a Saorview box for France and Ireland or even a "Freeview HD" box (For Ireland, France and UK) (not A Freeview box) rather than a French "TNT HD" box.

There is no such thing as a "Digital" Aerial or Ariel.

Digital ariel? Digital washing powder, does it exist? If so it won't receive TNT (French digital TV).

To receive TNT a standard Saorview box should work with a standard UHF aerial.
The channels will probably be put in to the 800s and the clock may show GMT but hey you are on holiday, do you care? A French TNT HD box is cheap enough in the supermarkets if you don't have a Saorview box and it will work back home in Ireland but will not give MHEG text. Buy a Saorview box before you go, it's cheaper than a TNT HD box in France. Have a good holiday.
