the picture under the light looks like an isolator switch(dead man). must be bypassed if the tractor is working.the dial is for setting the sensitivity of the draft for ploughing etc. a book would tell you what setting to use depending on what type of plough you were using

1-5 knob is for Load/Depth adjustment. It should be kept in position 1 when not needed.

    1 Depth Control

With Load/Depth control in this position, the implement is held at the selected position

    2-4 Mixed Control

The intermediate positions of the Load/Depth control allow the effects of depth control and/or load controll to be infinitely varied as the ground conditions require.

    5 Load Control

With Load/Depth control in this position, the implement is raised as resistance (soil density) increases and lowered as resistance decreases, thus maintaining the preselected load.

Lever to the right is for engaging Creeper Transmission

By the way - to the left of the 1-5 knob you have two knobs hidden under a cover.

One is for limiting the height to which an implement can be raised and the other controls the speed at which the implement drops.
