    Hi,

I wanted to stay somewhere close to barcelona, with a nice beach, nightlife, restaurants etc. and I found Sitges. It seems perfect. Just wondering if anyone has been and what did they think of it? I'm going with a few friends. We are all in our early 20s. Only one things that I have really been wondering.. I read that Sitges is the ''gay capital'' of Spain. Does anyone know if the night life completely dominated by the gay scene? No problem with gay bars and stuff but everyone coming is straight so would Sitges be an okay place for us because it looks great. Thanks.

I reckon Sitges wont disappoint you. I work close to the town, and yes it is the gay capital but there are plenty of straight bars and it has a very nice crowd of people, a nice mix of young professionals and holiday makers.

If you are looking for beaches and restaurants you couldn't find a better town and at night you can get a taxi or train to a place about 10 kms towards barcelona called Playadefels, this is the beach area of Casteldelfels and the nightlife lasts all night, brilliant beach bars, clubs and fun everywhere.

Between these two towns you'll have enough to keep you busy and not regret staying out of Barcelona.
