Wanted - 8 speed Shimano flatbar shifters / bars

    Got a drop-bar bike for my son, (11y.o.) but he finds drops difficult to manage. Hoping to find second hand 8 speed shifters (& brake levers) & also flat handlebars. Perhaps somebody did flat to drops conversion & has spares??. Gears are Shimano 2300, I think any shimano 8 speed are compatible. In south-east, occasionally travel to Dublin.

    I have a set of shimano 3 x 8 flat bar shifters in mint condition.Yours for €25 plus postage.They have the brake levers integrated and are black in colour.
    Model is Shimano ST EF50

    I've some levers going, 8x2 or 8x3, have a flat bar too, it's got a small rise and sweep back but nothing drastic. What kind of stem is on the young lads bike? If it's a quill you'll need an adapter and an MTB stem 25.6mm. A road stem has a clamp diameter of 26mm, now I've used road stems on MTB before and I'm in one piece but I can't say it's the done thing.
    Anyway levers and bar for €25 I'm in Enniscorthy.

    Embarassment of riches!. Turns out a friend has some spare white bars which will match the bike (important when you're 11)
    Think I'll take offer of 'mint shifters' from bal1000.
    Did your shifters have integrated brake levers JonDoe?. Anyway may be back to you if bal1000 falls through.
    Where are you bal1000?. Will be up country Friday if its convenient for you, or we can work by post. Can you PM me your details to make arrangements (as a newbie I haven't figured out how to PM yet).

    Received shifters in post today. Thanks bal1000. 100% ok. Now to change all around.
