I looking for advise on what type of wooden flooring to use
Wife is looking to change the whole downstairs wooden floors, currently we have semi solid but due to high heels and kids it is full of dints and marks

Whats the best option for a hard wearing floor that wont mark due to heels.... Solid, semi sold, laminate ?

    Laminate.

If you want to go the same semi / solid route, you have to be disciplined. Shoes off on entering, simple as that ( particularly the wife in her poxy heels ). Otherwise it get destroyed.
