moped license ??? CONFUSED

    I have my full license since 08 and provisional before that since 06, i dont have the code 103 on my license but the M catogory isnt filled out i have the W, so where do i stand am i entitled to drive a moped ????

    You're not entitled to drive a moped OP. Only people who passed the car test pre Oct'06 got the M category automatically. In order for you to get it you will have to do the theory test, IBT, driving test etc..

    ahh ****e, i read somewhere that if your license doesnt have 103 written on the restricions part then you can drie mopeds
    ahh well looks like ill have to get a 2nd car instead

    Yeah it sucks alright. If you want to blame anyone point your anger at the EU. They're the one's implimenting theses new rules across the EU to create a standard driving licence/test/system.

    Just wait until next January 19th (2013), that's when the real fun begins!

    it's ridiclious really i have a license to drive trucks yet im unable to drive a moped with no gears, basically a glorified bicycle, btw what happen in jan next year ?

    It's silly Irish rules, in most other EU countries you can ride a moped at 14.

    They are totally changing the motorcycle licence system so you'll be riding on restricted licences for at least 4 years(IIRC) after passing the A test. Get your IBT and apply for an A licence, it'll be cheaper than a 2nd car and much more fun.

    That's mad Ted. So if you pass your driving test you are allowed drive a car and tractor but not a moped?

    if i had the time i would, starting new job monday had cash to go for new moped today only to find out from the dealer that i wasnt entitled......;. sick as a dog i was :mad:
