    Hey,

I have a Saxo 2001 which failed on emissions just recently. I have a bottle of something I got from a friend who said to use it to lower the emissions but im not sure how to go about it:confused:

:confused:Full tank, half tank, full bottle, half bottle:confused:

    Can anyone help?

Heres a screen shot of the cert. Was a little low quality so wrote over it.
I failed the ones with red squares.

Oh sry, its a litre bottle of dipetane.

More likely a slow switching lambda causing those readings, diptane won't fix that, or any emmission issue caused by a faulty part, which is the majority of cases in petrol cars.

Lambda is just over and so is CO.
I'd suggest something to try first, cheaper than a new switch and labour to fit it.
Find a local garage that does emissions and book at time, usually about 25 euro for emissions check.

First change air filter (a few euros at any motor factors), dump the whole bottle in a half tank and maybe a bottle of redex.
Go out and run the car on the motorway until really warm and nice.
Turn around a continue driving for 5 -10 mins at 4000 rpms to push all crap out "drive it like you stole it".
Then go immediately to check at the garage. Should be fine*

    *no promises.
