    Thanks,

Davitts on Camden St is good if they are staying southside. Cobblestone on the northside. Or the tourist version- Gogartys in Temple Bar.

    Cobblestone, Smithfield.

one of the few authentic places.

the Celt plays a little trad but the speakers are too large for such a small pub and whenever they sing it sounds distorted.

I was at the Merry Ploughboy in Rathfarnham. they actually played the anthem at the end which is do not hear very often in Dublin as it is apparently a bogger thing to do.

Gogartys is one of those pubs where even the barstaff are not Irish.

It's not a trad session anymore. Afaik the trad guys left a while back. Only the Wed night session remains and it is for general walk-in players and only accommodates about 10 at most :)

    Where did they go?

As regards Gogarty's and other tourist places:
A trad session should never have amplification !
