    Just looking for a ruling.......

Was playing in a match-play match last night and dropped my club on the ball. Ball moved.

    What's the penalty?

So replacing the ball seem to be in agreement. Any clarity on the penalty or not?

it very important that we dont start to give false rulings on here
it could lead to an important inter-club match being decided on the advice given on here
if you dont know the ruling please dont guess it
some people who play the game might read the above and assume that it is the correct call
mods we'll have to monitor these rules threads before a serious issue arises out of one of them

Ha ha. I think it would unfair to ask the mods to monitor this as they are already kept far to busy dealing with trolls!.

You guessed and you got it wrong. You then take the time to look up the rule and get it right. Why didn't you just do the right thing first time around.

No. I though I knew it. I was wrong. Then corrected it.
Have you nothing better to do?

You thought you knew it! FFS. Do something right the first time or don't bother doing it at all.

You couldn't ask for a better online rule book

    http://www.randa.org/en/Rules-and-Amateur-Status/Rules-of-Golf.aspx#/rules/

Loads of every day examples to cover most scenarios. This should be the first port of call for everyone
