Just happened to spot this on donedeal
    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/3405581

I used to own this car, bought it back in jan 06. It was a cracker for a 1.4. I put the towbar on it for light use with an 8x4 trailer, pulled about a dozen times. Nice spec too with integrated fogs, 6 disc in dash changer and sunroof.

BUT..... I sold the car in may 07, traded it for a diesel passat. When I sold it the clock showed a genuine 96,000 miles, and it was burning a bit of oil then, (bought with 52k on it). Car has obviously been clocked, or garaged for 5 years. Given the state of the front number plate I doubt it's been off the road.

Will dig out the pics from my carzone ad tomorrow

Tread carefully here, there is nothing to suggest that the current seller has misrepresented the car. Alot can happen in 5 years including change of ownership.

The current seller may not have clocked it but it has been clocked.

Regardless of who did what I'd still avoid

might somebody would give a call to seller, pretend friend of ex owner, and ask how comes mileage lower than number years ago ?

I'm not incriminating the current owner, don't get me wrong, they may be totally unaware of it. Either way the mileage is not genuine - that car has done a lot more than 96k
This is the very car back in 07, pics taken for sale on carzone before i traded - odometer is hard to read, but the 9 at the start is fairly obvious.

Hope I'm not braking any rules by posting these pics (they are mine after all)

It proves that you did own the car otherwise you could have been a potential buyer trying to put others off.

Fair play OP, your not accusing anyone of clocking the car you're just making people aware of the facts.
