R&S Records present… James Blake (DJ set)
with The Chain and Space Dimension Controller

    The Academy, Dublin
    Friday 3rd August
    €17.50 including booking fee
    Late doors: 11.15pm

Legendary label R&S Records has been at the cutting edge of dance music since its inception in 1984 in Belgium. With a back catalogue of acts like Juan Atkins, Ken Ishii, C.J.Bolland and of course Aphex Twin, the label has evolved with shifting trends in dance music and relaunched in 2006 with a new wave of talent, from Cloud Boat to Vondelpark all the way up to current post-dubstep wunderkind James Blake.

Today the label announces a special event on Friday 3rd August at Dublin’s Academy venue, with DJ sets from three of the current roster of acts:

    James Blake
A surefooted 22-year-old composer whose extraordinary tracks are not so much breaking down existing musical barriers as leaping over them and creating an entirely new kind of pop that belies its author’s tender age. Loosely tethered to dubstep, but displaying an astonishing grasp of songwriting and electronic production, James’s songs possess uncommon grace and soulfulness

    The Chain
Dark and mysterious, twisted techno and beats are the forte of The Chain

    Space Dimension Controller
In the year 2334 and after the Pulsovian invasion of earth, Mr. 8040 aka Max Tiraquon was made Space Dimension Controller of the Tiraquon Security Council.
When asked to describe his music, he doesn’t really have much to say. They only way to describe it is… GALACTIC FUNK
