Need advice on a bike!

Hi just looking for a bit of advice on a bike.

Basically I am looking for a bike that I can put a child seat on the back of, but which can also be used for a bit of decent cycling ( nothing hectic but regular evening trips to clear the head!).

Unfortunately money is tight so will only be able to stretch to about €300. Just wondering if there is any value out there for this price or at this end of the market would the quality all be pretty similar?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

If you need to carry a baby seat I'd say this means you want a hybrid bike.

Ignore anything with suspension (all show, no go at this price). I'd say go second-hand - lots of good stuff to pick up for that price. I have a Trek FX 7.3 myself - you'd get one of these second-hand that would do the job nicely.

    But there's lots of options!

Thanks for the advice. Any other bikes similar to the Trek which I should be looking around for?

If you are going secondhand, then you might be better looking at the condition/price of what is available rather than restricting yourself to a particular bike - as you can when buying new.

I'd look in adverts.ie (link) and donedeal (link) for bikes. Your local bike shop may also have 2nd hand stuff for sale and could offer advice as to what would suit your needs.

Funny enough, there is a Trek 7.3 for sale in adverts that would be in your price range (link)

Donedeal also have this Felt F65 which might suit (link)
